Artwork - Out of Depth, 2022
Created by Aimee Rowland, Out of Depth is a deeply personal oil painting on discarded clothing, using the fabric of the artist's own clothing as a canvas to symbolise identity. Measuring 90 x 75 cm, this piece is layered with raw, emotive marks, representing the struggles and emotional weight carried while navigating life's challenges. As each hurdle arose, the feeling of being submerged deeper intensified, making it harder to emerge from the depths. The artwork is a powerful visual expression of mental and emotional endurance.
